The staff at Cornerstone Church has spent many years devoted to the christian faith. Our staff enjoys sharing that faith and knowledge with others in our church community. Here are a few of Cornerstone Church's staff members, starting with Jim Anderson: |

Bill Lewis (Executive Administrator) I bet that is a title and role you haven’t heard attached to Bill Lewis before! Perhaps, you’ve heard Bill Lewis, Utilities Director for Yuba City, Deacon, Deacon Board Chairman, friend or servant. Bill has begun his role this past week as Cornerstone Church’s Executive Administrator. This was the position approved by the Elders and Deacons and shared at the Semi-Annual Meeting in May. This position is a volunteer unpaid position without any additional cost to the congregation. Please pray for Bill as he begins to serve the church in this role. |

Rick Finitzer (Associate Pastor) Pastor Rick, Janet and family moved to Yuba City from Sequim, Washington in September 2003. It is amazing how fast 7 years have passed. Rick brings with him 24 years of full-time service (over 30 serving in the church). After finishing a degree in Biblical Studies from Grace College in Winona Lake and attending Grace Theological Seminary, Pastor Rick has served as a Missionary with Child Evangelism Fellowship as well as pastoral roles in churches in Indiana (Administrative Pastor) and Washington State (Associate Pastor and Senior Pastor). A passion of Pastor Rick's is church planting. Because of this he has served on various Church Planting Boards. He served two terms with Northwest Independent Church Extension (N.I.C.E.) which plants churches in six states in the West and Pacific Northwest and two terms as a Board Member on the Western District Board of the Evangelical Free Church of America. Pastor Rick and Janet have five children (notice a trend here?). Their oldest daughters Aimee & Alison - twins - (more coincidence? We think not!). Aimee is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University and living in the Seattle Area working at Kidspace. Alison is a graduate from Gordon College in the Boston area and is living in Beverley, Massachusetts working with Children with Autism at Winthrop School for the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District as the Intensive Primary Program Teacher. Alison recently completed her Masters in Education at Simmons College in Boston. They have a son Matthew, who graduated from The University of Washington in 2008 and who married his High School sweetheart, Julie Nguyen in June 2009 after graduating from Seattle Pacific University. They are in Busan, South Korea for 13 months teaching English as a second language! Their daughter Jenny just graduated from Berkeley with a degree in Mass Communications. She just returned from a semester at Yonsei University in Seoul South Korea as a part of Berkeley's Study Abroad Program. Their youngest daughter Ellen is a Junior at SAC State University. Pastor Rick and Janet will celebrate their 30th Wedding Anniversary on July 5, 2010! Where does time go?! Janet is a graduate of Wheaton College and currently is teaching English at Sutter Union High School. Pastor Rick’s Favorite Verse: Ephesians 3:20-21 NIV Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Dave Sauer (Youth Pastor) Dave was adopted at birth in Montana by a Christian couple. Their family moved to Washington during his junior high years. He put his faith in Christ as his personal Savior while in high school. Dave and Darcy met while students at community college. They married in 1990 and have four daughters; Savannah (13), Scarlett (10), Sinclaire (6), Sonniva (4). For the past 12 years Dave worked in business while serving in ministry as an active layman. Being an independent contractor, setting his own schedule allowed him to give generous time to church work. In 1999, Dave and Darcy stepped out in faith to help plant a new church where Dave served for three years as part-time associate pastor. His passion for reaching and teaching young people was developed into a calling to serve youth in full time ministry. His Life verse is... Ephesians 6:10-11 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. |

Garry Bradley (Director of Worship) Garry grew up in Yuba County and graduated from Marysville High School in 1999. Currently, he is a partner-owner-installer for Affordable Glass and Windows, a business based primarily in Sacramento. Garry became a Christian ten years ago this week when he received Christ as his Savior at a youth retreat. He and Nicole met at church in Loma Rica and were married on June 16, 2007. Leading worship began for him in his youth group. He also directed worship for two years at a Christian summer camp. Prior to coming to Cornerstone Church a year and a half ago, Garry led worship at Loma Rica Community Church for two years as volunteer and two years on staff. As members of Cornerstone, Garry and Nicole have been serving the past year. He provided relief and support for Pastor Dave. The larger ministry of Cornerstone, now providing three worship services each weekend, will benefit from a person of Garry’s gifting and commitment. |

Diane Smalley (Finances/Human Resources) Diane is celebrating her 14th year on staff this year. She was originally hired as a part-time receptionist in April of 1996, then advancing to the Financial Secretary in 1998. Her duties continued to grow as well as her hours when she also served as Ministry Liaison. Her position then evolved into our Finance & Human Resource Administrator in 2005. Prior to Cornerstone, Diane had been in the banking field since 1974. Reaching her career goals, she opted to take an early retirement in 1991. She was blessed to then operated her own daycare for five years until God called her to work for the church in 1996. Diane has been involved in numerous ministries and has served on many committees since she began attending Cornerstone in October of 1989. Diane and her husband Jim were married in June of 1978. Their daughter Laura married Ken Crowninshield in July of 2004. The first grandchild, Hailey, was born in September of 2006 and grandson Tyler followed in June of 2008. Laura has been a past Cornerstone Nursery Coordinator and now a Pre-School teacher and also serves on the Titus 2 special events committee. Their son, Robert, had to take an early out from the Air Force last year due to a training accident. Diane’s family enjoys travel, camping and time with extended family and friends. One of Diane’s favorite verses is Hebrews 12:1-3 "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart". |

Kathleen Sutton (Office Administrator) Kathleen is a native Californian, born right here in Yuba City! She joined our staff almost 6 years ago as a part-time clerical assistant. Then in 2005, she was promoted to full-time Office Administrator. Kathleen brought over 20 years of clerical experience in the corporate world to Cornerstone. Kathleen and her husband, Jeff, just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They have 2 children; Alisha, 21, and Zachary, 8. Alisha is currently attending college to become a Pharmacy Technician. She plans to graduate in October, 2009, then pursue a position in a hospital or medical clinic. Zachary is about to finish 2nd Grade, and is looking forward to summer. He enjoys playing baseball on a Sutter Buttes Little League Farm team, The Cardinals. Jeff coaches his team, while mom cheers them on in the stands! Her family has been active members of Cornerstone for 10 years. Jeff is currently serving as our Facilities Deacon, and an AWANA Leader. Kathleen is an AWANA secretary, and a Youth Small Group Leader. Kathleen’s hobbies include gardening, boating, camping and planning special events! (She is currently planning her niece's September wedding.) Kathleen also enjoys decorating our Sanctuary, and giving our campus a fresh new look! Kathleen's life verse: Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. |

Shawna Craft (Director Children's Ministries) Shawna was born and raised in the Yuba/Sutter area. She accepted Christ as her savior in 1988. Shawna graduated from Lindhurst High School in 1993 and Yuba Community College in 1995 with an associate’s degree in Mass Communications. Shawna and Clarence met while attending the same church and were married in July 1994. They have four children, Devin, Sydney, Blake and McKenna. In 2005, Shawna returned to college and graduated in 2007 from Western Governors University with a Bachelor’s degree of Interdisciplinary Studies and received a California Teaching Credential for Multiple subjects. Shawna is currently a full time teacher with an internet based independent study program, California Virtual Academy. While attending Cornerstone, Shawna has volunteered in a variety of areas. She leads a Wednesday night Women’s Bible study, runs the soundboard and helps out in a variety of other areas. Shawna is excited to have this opportunity to work with the children of Cornerstone. |
